The goal is always to help individuals enjoy daily living activities, from work to play to relaxation, all as independently as possible. We offer a wide selection of mobility enhancing products for all ages including pediatrics. If you think you might benefit from a custom designed wheelchair, power chair or scooter, give us a call. We’re happy to consult with you and help assess your needs. Important things to know about mobility devices... Getting The Right Fit Is Key... A lot of time is spent in the wheelchair. That’s why it must precisely fit the user’s size, weight, specific physical and functional needs. An incorrect fit can force an improper posture that can deteriorate one’s physical condition and ability to function. A properly designed chair from FHM will help to maintain proper position, be more comfortable and help maximize your freedom and independence. Here’s How We’re Different From Those Other Guys... The big national stores believe that “a few sizes fit all.” They’ll happily sell a chair from their inventory that is “close enough” to what’s needed. “Close enough” just isn’t good enough. Everyone is different. That’s why our chairs are custom built from the ground up by our experts for the exact fit. The latest knowledge and technology will go into every chair, and it will satisfy any needs for years to come. More About Our “Custom” Approach... We use a “team” approach to assess physical, cognitive, and environmental needs. Our Clients meet with our certified Assistive Technology Practitioners (A.T.P.) and a Physical/Occupational Therapist for every assessment. We invite input from family, friends, caregivers, and of course, YOU, about the home/work environment, lifestyle, goals and objectives. We discuss specialized seating, alternative drive controls, and any other unique components that the system may need. Designing And Building Your Perfect Chair... After we thoroughly understand the physical, environmental and functional needs, we design a system that will provide the maximum level of comfort and independence. We take into account the diagnosis, the users precise body measurements, and the lifestyle objectives. Using the latest technology from specialized sources around the world, our technicians custom build your chair to be a perfect fit. A Chair For Today And Tomorrow... Medicare and most Insurance companies will pay for one mobility device until it is either worn-out beyond repair or becomes obsolete. It is important that this device is designed to last. Based on the users condition and future prognosis, we make the system adaptable, so that if the users condition progresses, it can be easily modified to meet whatever changing needs the future may bring. Beyond The Mobility System... The system has to fit perfectly, and it has to fit the users home environment, too. Our A.T.P. will visit the residence to make certain doorways and hallways are wide enough and there are no steps or barriers that will get in the way. If any home modifications are needed, one of our home design consultants will provide a free assessment and any applicable recommendations, to insure the mobility system interfaces perfectly with our client’s home environment. Paying For The Mobility Device... Our billing experts will work with your prescribing physician to obtain payment approvals, we will then bill Medicare and other insurance companies to arrange payment for the new System. We take care of all the paperwork and red tape so you don’t have to. Delivery And More... When we deliver the brand new, custom-built-just-for-you-system, we don’t just drop it off and wave “goodbye.” Our A.T.P. makes sure the client is well educated about the proper use and care of the new mobility system. Before leaving, the A.T.P. will also ensure that the chair functions as expected in its new home setting. 1 Sprint Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015 • 717-249-8051 • FAX: 717-243-9423
